In this weeks column, Sky Sports Phil Clarke says he was impressed by Super League round 1, but asks which teams can maintain that form throughout the season...They say that first impressions count in life; they can affect the way that others see or perceive you. Well, after three months of sparring, the Super League sides went into a real fight last weekend. It was only Round 1, and there are 30 more games to go before you can qualify for the Grand Final, but nobody wanted to make a false start.Im told by experts that it only takes a tenth of a second to judge someone and make a first impression, so after 80 minutes, what was your initial view? The most impressive team were the Warrington Wolves. I thought that Leeds would be too strong for them before the match but they defended their tryline brilliantly, and then scored the try of the round. It was a great game to start the season. Wigan ground out a result against the Dragons, but I doubt itll be the same in the return match at the start of July. The weather was awful, and the French team couldnt cope. There is controversy and debate about the John Boudebza tackle on Michael Shenton. Im sad that the Tigers may have to play without such a great player while hes out injured, but I dont think the tackle was illegal or foul play. Phil Clarke We sometimes forget just what difference the weather can have on a result. The conditions were similar at St Helens, but the finishing was more clinical and Saints looked comfortable winners in the end.Unusually, five of the eight tries scored in this match came from kicks and it was Saints who kicked the best. Luke Walsh looks set for a great season if he can avoid injury. Jordan Turner notched his 100th career try as St Helens romped to a 30-16 victory over Huddersfield at Langtree Park Lee Radfords Hull FC lads struggled to get across the tryline in 2015 but they made it look easy last Friday with eight different try scorers. It was an impressive kick-off to 2016 for most of the match.Salford showed some spirit by fighting back and Im sure that well be talking a lot about the impact of Ben Murdoch-Masila this season. He looks like a power tool who can drill through anything. Look out for him in this Thursdays match. The Wildcats and the Vikings gave us an entertaining and competitive game at Belle Vue. All the action from the Super League clash between Wakefield and Widnes Im looking forward to seeing Anthony Tupou play in the flesh and I suspect that well see a stronger side than last year, when they became disconnected from the other teams in the competition.Setaimata Sa started well for Widnes and I think that Lloyd White could be a surprise player in 2016. Injuries last season restricted him to just 14 games in Super League. If he plays in over 20, I think that the Vikings will make the Top 8.The most dramatic match of Round 1 was the draw between Hull KR and Castleford. It looked and felt as though the Rovers had won when you witnessed the celebrations from the players and fans. All the action from the Super League clash between Hull K R and Castleford However, the Tigers were the best team in my opinion, and Hull KR were lucky to get a point. Theyll need to improve quickly if they want to get close to the Wolves in Round 2.There is controversy and debate about the John Boudebza tackle on Michael Shenton. Im sad that the Tigers may have to play without such a great player while hes out injured, but I dont think the tackle was illegal or foul play. The French hooker has made many tackles similar to this in previous matches, and even made one that looked quite close to it after the incident, but he hasnt to my mind been penalised for any of them.If Shenton hadnt been injured, I do not believe that the referee wouldve blown his whistle and awarded a penalty. Is it the tackle or the injury that is the issue here?
