Saskatoons Shannon Comerford, Calgarys Alanna Goldie, Hamiltons Eleanor Harvey and Ottawas Kelleigh Ryan fell 38-36 to the United States in the gold-medal match. The Canadians advanced to the final with a pair of decisive victories, defeating the host Colombians 45-29 in the quarter-finals, and Mexico 45-27 in the semifinals. "Although the final result was disappointing, this is very encouraging for team Canada," Goldie said. "We finished fourth in the Junior World Championships team event in April, and we made two top-eight results in the World Cup events.
