GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida receiver Rick Wells has signed a deferred prosecution agreement with the State Attorneys Office, meaning he can avoid a conviction on his record if he meets a number of conditions.Wells and fellow freshman Tyrie Cleveland were arrested in July for firing BB guns into an on-campus residence hall. The charge was reduced Tuesday from a felony to a misdemeanor.Cleveland is not eligible for deferred prosecution because of a past shoplifting charge in Houston. Cleveland has a Sept. 22 court date, where he is expected to accept a plea deal.Wells must pay $979.80 in restitution, pay $100 in prosecution costs, and donate $150 to a child advocacy center or perform 12 hours of community service.
