Carmelo Anthony thinks the New York Knicks have added enough talent this summer to make the playoffs in the coming season, which would snap a three-year drought.I believe so. Its just a matter of everybody coming together and buying into what we want to do.The Knicks have added Derrick Rose via trade and signed Joakim Noah, Brandon Jennings and Courtney Lee this summer. I think we have a good opportunity to do some things this year. Its all about what we do. Its all about us now. Its all about how we come together, how we jell together. For the most part, the pieces are there, so its up to us.Jackson said earlier this month that his conversation with Anthony after the end of the season spurred him to upgrade the teams point guard position, and he eventually traded for Rose. Prior to the Rose trade, Anthony had expressed uncertainty about the direction of the franchise. But he seems optimistic after the Knicks recent moves.The front office stepped up, Anthony said. I think it was a collective effort. They did their job, and they did what they had to do to make some moves and make things happen. Now they put us in a situation to give us an opportunity. All we have to do is take advantage of that.With Rose and Jennings entering the final years of their respective contracts and Anthony (age 32) and Noah (31) in the latter stages of their careers, the Knicks are built to win immediately. Anthony acknowledged that timetable when speaking with reporters Monday.The time is now for us, he said. The time is now for the city and the fans. The time is now. Everybody is tired of waiting and waiting. Now its time we can go out there and put a competitive team [on the floor]. For me, the time is now.
